II/ Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about what is happening at the moment of speaking. III/ Language content: 1/ Vocabulary: Do, ride, drive, wait for, play video games. 2/ Structures: The present progressive tense What are you doing? I am riding my bike. IV/. Teaching aids: Cassette, tape and projector and colored chalks. V/. Techniques: Ordering prediction, brainstorming, comprehension questions, pair work and group work. VI/ Procedure: Stages Teacher’s and students’ activities Content T STS Warm up Presentation Practice Production Homework Ask students to answer the question. Use sts’ answer to lead in the new lesson. Explain some new words , using techniques such as: mime, translation and pictures. Read some new words aloud after the teacher. ( chorally / individually) Introduce some pictures and ask them to work in pairs, guess which action happens first. Get feedback. Call them to listen to the tape carefully and then put the following sentences in order. Peer correction. Say sentence by sentence and let them repeat. Let sts practice the sentences in small groups. Ask them to change the subjects. Be sure to change the forms of the verbs followed. Call them to work in pairs, look at the pictures, asking and answering about what is happening at the moment. Some pairs perform in front of the class. Correct the students’ mistakes if there are any. Have them work in pairs, match the words in column A with the Vietnamese translation in column B. Get feedback and correct, using projector. Ask them to work in pairs, look at the pictures and then answer the questions. Give feedback and correct. Ask them to rewrite all exercises into their notebooks. Prepare some new words in A4 & A6 for the next period. Prepare a sheet of transparent film to check up. II/ Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the main ideas and details of a picture story and talk about one’s daily life. III/ Language content: 1/ Vocabulary: Truck driver, load, unload, arrive at, food stall, farmer, copy, correct, farm. 2/ Structures: Quang is arriving at the farm. A farmer is waiting for him. IV/. Teaching aids: Cassette, tape and projector and colored chalks. V/. Techniques: Ordering statements prediction, matching, comprehension questions, pair work and group work. Read out the words in any order. Each time the sts has one of the words that the teacher reads, they put a tick next to that word. The student who ticks all six words shouts “ bingo”. Explain some new words, using techniques : explanation, translation and opposite. Read aloud after the teacher. ( chorally/ individually) Divide the whole into two teams to check some new words by using technique “ matching”. Call them to work in pairs, guess and put the following sentences into the correct pictures. Get feedback. Have them to listen to the tape carefully and then check their prediction. Call them to read in silence and double check their answers. Read the picture story after the teacher. Some sts read aloud in front of the class. Correct their mistakes if there are any. Call them to work in groups, answer the questions. Move around to help the weaker groups. Get feedback. Correct some groups, using projector. Ask sts to work in groups, rewrite the story , using the cues given. Get feedback and correct. Correct some groups by using projector. Have them write the answers in the notebooks.
